Well done to 13 year old Emma Bradley for yet another excellent running performance.
This time it was the National Cross Country Championships at Nottingham on 22nd February.
Emma braved muddy, wet and stormy conditions to complete this challenging Cross Country Event over 3 1/2 km in a great time with an excellent position.

13 year old Super Athlete, Emma Bradley has been busy already in 2020. Emma trains with Neil Thomson Swimming at Nye Bevan every Thursday and was highly successful in running and athletics events in 2019.
This January, Emma had the honour of representing Wigan at the Greater Manchester Schools Cross Country Championships.
Emma has a great attitude to training and racing and I foresee a highly successful year ahead for her in 2020.
Our top Junior Girl fell runner, Emma Bradley  came 4th in the Farlton Knott Fell Race on the 4th August.
Emma has performed consistently well in similar events this year and is already in our club record books.
Emma Bradley, aged 12, gained 3rd place in the LowGill Fell Race, then earned 1st place in the 2nd race of the Jubilee race series at Horwich.
Emma’s time of 5 minutes 57 seconds is a new girls and ladies club record for the 1 mile run.
James Thompson is running 6 marathons in 5 days through the Sahara Desert in April 2019.
He is raising money for the Walton Centre NHS Trust and North West Cancer Research charities.
There was a good attendance of West Lancs Tri Club members at the Charity Night hosted by James at Cheshire Lines, Maghull.

there was, as always, a strong turnout of West Lancs Tri Club Members participating in this popular seaside event. Well done to Ian Jones, Joanne Pye, Sharon Saunders, Caitlin Everson, Viv Hanson and Angela Connor for completing Mad Dog in Southport.
Chris Millington ran a very fast time in this event, just missing out on breaking his own West Lancs Tri Club 10km running record.

Chris set a new record time of 35 minutes and 53 seconds in the Ormskirk 10km Road Race on the 23rd September 2018, eclipsing the old time set by Mark Howard, which had stood for a very long time.
The icing on the cake was that Chris came 2nd in the Ormskirk 10km against a high calibre local field.
Mike Gall recorded the fastest park run at Ormskirk in a time of 18 minutes 40 seconds on 30th June. This is our fastest park run ever and is close to our club record of 17.52 by Mark Howard.
Well done to West Lancs Tri Club members, Mike Gall, Brian Higgins, tony Woods, Eamon Brady and Seraya Meah for completing the Liverpool Half Marathon.
All did well, particularly Mike Gall who came 33rd in a 5,000 plus person field.
Also, Briah Higgins for completing his 1st ever Half Marathon Event.
